The Head of Marketing – Prashant Sarwade had flown in from Mumbai. After interacting with him, I realized that a lot of though has been put in in naming the products!
Along with donuts and coffee DD, India also offers wraps, burgers and sandwiches. First to make their entry were the wicked wraps. I devoured the Wicked Wrap (chicken) – it was delicious! So delicious that I forgot to click it! The sweet tang from the raw mango relish gives a nice twist to the spicy chicken. Wicked indeed!
Among the burgers, we got to try the Crunchy Joe Chicken,The Original Tough Guy Chicken and The Naughty Lucy Chicken.
Lucy being “naughty” was a very messy affair with cheese oozing out of every bite and you have no choice but to get your hands dirty.
The Crunchy Joe burger, according to Prashant is their take on the deep-fried, greasy street food. The crunch comes from its crispy oh-so-buttery buns. The filling is of chunky minced chicken. Of course you’ll regret eating it. But it’ll be worth it. Well that is what DD says! If the non-veg version was great, the veg version was even better.
I totally skipped the Tough Guy 🙂
All of this yummy food was washed down with chilled iced tea. The Spiked Iced Tea was fabulous. What is it spiked with? Spices!
After all this I had no space for Dunkaccino and I also had to yet taste the primary reason for DD’s existence – Donuts! I got to sample a whole lot of donuts – ring and shell. The options in ring donuts are – Ugly Strawberry (I mean, it’s cute, from the inside!), Cinnamon, Classic Glazed, Classic Glazed Cake (contains egg), Chocolate Cake, Classic White, Cookie Cartwheel and Chocolate Frosted. The Classic Glazed and Glazed Cake stand out amongst all the donuts. The glazed cake is really fluffy.
In the shell variant the options include – Alive by Chocolate, Death by Chocolate, Very Very Blueberry, Jelly Filled, Boston Crème Chocolate, Breakup Party Éclair (Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate. No. It won’t help. As if anything will!), Stuck On You (Caramel sticks. What to do…) , Hug Me (Self Love Syndrome? This cinnamon coffee roll gets you!) and It’s a Mistake! (Chilli guava on white chocolate. Of course it’s a mistake.)
My favourite ones were the – Very Very Blueberry and It’s a Mistake. BTW, the text in brackets beside the donut names are funny tagline about that particular donut! Told ya, they put a lot of thought in naming their products.
DD were gracious to gift us a “thank-you” hamper which contained the voucher booklet for 365 days of free donuts , a coffee mug and a sampler of half a dozen donuts. Thank you Dunkin Donuts and welcome to Hyderabad!
